Toddler Rooms

Portfolios:
Each child has their own personal portfolio. This is where samples of artwork, pictures, and observations are kept. Periodically take a few moments to browse through your child’s portfolio and look for new items or reminisce (it’s amazing how quickly they grow and change).
Daily sheet:
Every day we complete a daily sheet for your child. This informs you of how well your child has slept and eaten, and their diaper changes or potty training for the day. Reminders for diapers, a change of clothes, or other comments may be written.

Classroom Goals:
- To provide a loving and nurturing atmosphere. We do this by listening and observing the children’s feelings and needs.
- To build a trusting relationship with each child to serve as a base for social, emotional, and intellectual learning.
- To encourage self regulation. We value the feelings of children, and we help them to build empathy and awareness of others. This is accomplished by helping them express themselves with sign language and verbal communication.
- To encourage independence. Help, support and encouragement are offered as children learn self-help skills.
- To provide an environment that encourages growth and promotes learning through play. We achieve this by offering open ended art opportunities and by rotating toys and books. We observe the children and set appropriate developmental goals.
